Bio
Jason Poitras is the General Manager at MicroSurvey Software Inc. MicroSurvey, part of Hexagon, is a world leader in software development, providing market specific solutions and services for surveyors, engineers, public safety and mapping professionals.
Jason is a graduate from Red River College with a diploma in Survey Engineering Technology. After graduating, he worked as a surveyor in the land surveying and construction industries in Winnipeg, MB until 2000. Considered by many as a “techy”, his interest in computers and love for technology combined with his surveying experience led him to pursue a job with MicroSurvey Software. Before becoming the general manager, he worked in various roles including sales, technical support, training and product development.
Until recently, Jason has been the acting product manager for the MicroSurvey forensic product line and managed Evidence Recorder and Map360. Jason has also been influential in the development of a Course Training Standard (CTS) where a curriculum was developed to teach public safety personnel how to effectively and accurately use MicroSurvey software solutions to map and diagram crashes and crime scenes.
